The Playbook: 5 Huge Pickleball Mistakes
Most players are 1 correction away from a break through. Which one of these is holding you back?
Lack of drilling/no structure to your drilling sessions
The absolute fastest way to improve your pickleball game and get to the next level is drilling
Drilling is the superman of consistency
Drill for 1 to 2 hours, 2 to 3 days a week and you’ll find it nearly impossible to not win your next tournament
The Pickleball Drills App is the perfect tool for helping you have structured drilling sessions, with 100’s of different drills to choose from
Lack of understanding why you are doing what you are doing
Many players just do things to do them
They hit a 3rd shot drop cause that’s what their coach said to do
Understanding the why behind everything you do will instantly improve your pickleball game
Ignoring your feet
A 10% improvement in your footwork will give you a 100% improvement in your game

Hitting the ball at 100% power when you get a pop up
Many players are so inconsistent just simply because they are hitting the ball way harder than they need to
The truth is, you can just as easily win the vast majority of points by hitting with 70% to 80% power
This is because you are more relaxed when you take power off, and it’s much easier to hit the ball in
The next time you get a pop up, don’t throw your shoulder out just to hit it long or in the net
Not split stepping
This is probably the most common mistake in all of pickleball
If you aren’t split stepping, you aren’t giving your eyes the best chance of seeing the ball
If you want to make perfect contact with the ball each time, you have to split step every single time your opponent hits the ball
A split step is where you split your feet apart and do a small jump when your opponent contacts the ball
It actually sends signals of accuracy and consistency to your brain by just implementing that small hop (pretty cool)
Stop making these 5 mistakes and you’ll instantly become better.
